We have already discussed about the urgent need for some top class defenders after Arsenal’s dire performances this season, but if there is one other area that needs improving then 90% of Arsenal fans would say that we need a strong and talented defensive midfielder.
One of the most impressive holding midfielders in Europe during the last two seasons is the Nice man Jean Michael Seri, who is an Ivory Coast international. He was much in demand last summer and the French club even managed to rebuff Barcelona when they came calling, but he is much more likely to be allowed to leave this summer.
Seri is believed to have a buyout clause of around £33million and is sure to be courted by many top clubs in the Premiership, but none of the big clubs have as great a need as Arsenal and he would be guaranteed game-time in front of Granit Xhaka. According to the Sky Sports transfer guru Kaveh Solhekol, Arsenal are one of the front runners to lure Seri away from the Ligue 1 club…
“The move for Seri, that is very, very serious,” Solhekol said.
“He is an incredible player, lots of big, big clubs are after him.
“Arsenal very, very much in the chase to sign him.”
To be, the price of £33million in this current market is a steal for a top player in the position that we desperately need to fill.
