Arsenal asking big money to stop Ospina completing transfer?

There have already been plenty of reports about the goalkeeper conundrum facing Arsene Wenger, because Arsenal have three quality keepers and only two places. Even one of those is going to be spending a lot of time on the bench and that complicates matters for the Gunners even more.

At least the boss is sure about his number one being the Czech Republic international Petr Cech but after that it gets tricky about Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina, although recent Arsenal transfer rumours have been saying that the Colombian international was close to a move away from the club, with Besiktas from Turkey apparently set to sign him.

Now though, according to the Evening Standard, Ospina will not be joining the Turkish club after all. The reason for this, apparently, is that we want too big a transfer fee and if this is true I reckon it must be because Wenger would rather have Ospina than Szczesny as back up next season.

The report goes on to claim that Roma are also unhappy with our demands over a permanent deal for Szczesny, so maybe the Frenchman still has plans for him but just not in the coming season. Has Wenger decided to hold on to both of our reserve keepers but to let the Poland international spend another season on loan?
