Arsenal boss enjoys moany Mourinho rant about spending

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has sniped at the recent rant by rival manager Jose Mourinho. The Manchester United boss recently insisted that his side had not spent enough money to challenge runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City following his side’s failure to beat Burnley on Boxing Day.

His side earned a 2-2 draw at home to the Clarets after succumbing to a two-goal deficit inside the first half, but the manager could not contain his frustrations.

Arsene Wenger has now sniped at his rival, who previously described our manager as a ‘specialist in failure’, claiming that he has been in a similar position for his entire time with the Gunners.

“I have been in that position for 21 years so I can’t start to complain now,” Wenger said of Mourinho’s frustrations with Manchester City flexing their financial muscles. “There have always been three or four teams richer than I am. I’ve learned to cope with that.

“We deal with our own situation as well as we can. Man City, Chelsea and Man United are all richer than us. You have to find ways to be successful.”

Mourinho is crazy to complain about the budget which he has been given to work with when you consider the splurge he has gone on since joining the Red Devils, including £180 Million being spent on only two players.

The Portuguese has allowed his team to become unbalanced, and with signings such as Matteo Darmian and Lindelof failing to prove their worth to the side, he should only blame the team tasked with such dealings.

Is Wenger enjoying the rant from Mourinho a little too much? Is Mourinho mad to complain about spending when his side is only struggling because his signings were not up to scratch? Should our manager complain about the money at his disposal?
