Arsenal boss ‘hungrier than ever’ in search of Premier League title

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants the Premier League title more than ever.

The Gunners have gone 13 years without lifting the domestic title, and questions have been asked of our club and manager’s desire to win things, and our manager is adamant that he still has that fight that, if not more than before.

Wenger said: “I was always hungry, but I’m hungrier than ever because the demands are higher, because I didn’t win the Premier League for a long time and because I want to do that before you get me out of here!

“I always have something to prove, if I play with you now we go out there and play four against four I will see that I will try to win, we can play one against one if you want.

“I think I’m born for competition, I don’t know why and what happened, but it’s like that no matter what I do and that’s it.

“The need is the desire to compete, that’s my real need. It’s never been financial. If it was only financial I would not be here.”

Our club hasn’t showed their desire to spend the money that our rivals do, although you could argue that we don’t have the resources to match all of our Premier League rivals in the transfer market.

You would be well within your rights to state that we do not splash the cash as much as we should, with our club even making a profit from our dealings this summer, but how much of that is down to the manager is tough to fathom.

Wenger clearly understands that his time in charge is coming to an end soon, and he intimates that is will be us as fans who will make him leave eventually, but can we believe that he still has the fight to win things like he claims?
