Arsenal can forget the transfer of Ozil´s Germany team mate

There have been reports in the football media over the last year or so that the Germany international star Mario Gotze could be ready to leave his Bundesliga club and Arsenal were one of the big clubs who were spoken about as a potential destination for the exciting young attacking player.

With his low centre of gravity, attacking intent and great technical ability, the 23-year old is almost the perfect example of a typical Arsene Wenger signing, so you can easily believe that the Frenchman would be very keen on his transfer if the reports suggesting that Gotze was a little disillusioned with his role at Bayern since he joined them from Borussia Dortmund.

It was certainly true that his first season did not go as well as expected and Gotze often found himself starting games on the bench. As reported by the Daily Star, however, Gotze has now declared that he is over any initial problems and is happy in Munich and intends to stay there for many years.

The German said, “I made my own mistakes but I’ve also had to withstand a lot of things that have been twisted.

“The last two years were certainly like a ripening process for me.

“I feel very happy here, I am glad to be a Bayern player. I would love to be the face of Bayern.

“I’ve played a big role (for the club) in the first two years and I want to play an even greater part.

“I never dealt with a transfer, it’s quite possible that other clubs had interest but I had no interest in leaving Bayern.”

So if Wenger was hoping for the Arsenal play maker Mesut Ozil to have a quiet word in the ear of Gotze while on international duty and talk him into trying his luck with the Gunners in the Premier League, he can think again. I personally think that Jack Wilshere could be our very own Gotze if he ever gets a long enough spell without injury. But will he ever get the chance to prove me right?
