Arsenal draw Ostersund in the Europa League! Who are they?

So Arsenal were the third last team out of the hat, so we already knew that we hadn’t got Napoli, Atletico Madrid or Dortmund, but that doesn’t mean that our draw will be easy.

Ostersunds FK is a real fairytale story and this is their first ever time playing in Europe, which is amazing considering they were only formed in 1996 and entered the third tier of the Swedish Leagues, and were only promoted to the the top Swedish division last year. You could say that as they are ranked 150th in Uefa’s coefficient rankings it should in theory come no easier for Arsenal at this stage of the competition.

They finished eighth in their first season, but their victory in the Svenska Cupen sent them into the Europa League. This year they have improved on that and finish 2017 in fifth place in the Allsvenskan.

The team are managed by Englishman Graham Potter – a former England Under-21 international – has already played 12 games in the competition but have already been too good for Hertha Berlin and held Athletic Bilbao at home, to ensure they progressed to the last 32 with a game to spare.

This should be an interesting game, especially playing in the frozen waste of Sweden in February with our reserve team!
