Arsenal FA cup defence boosted by home draw with Burnley

There were a few better possible draws for Arsenal to get in the draw for the 4th round of the FA cup made today than Burnley, but let’s not get too greedy Gooners shall we? The draw has been pretty favourable for the Gunners without being against a club so far down the lower leagues that we can take it for granted.

Burnley are a Championship club but they were in the Premier League last season and they made a decent fist of staying up after a very slow start. So they have some very decent players and having kept their manager Sean Dyche they have a great team spirit and are very well organised.

They are currently sitting in one of the play-off positions in a very tough and competitive division and not only that, they beat the league leaders Middlesborough away from home in their own FA cup 3rd round clash, so by no means are The Claret’s going to be a pushover for Arsenal.

Having said that we do have the advantage of a home draw and being the holders and not having lost an FA cup match for almost three years you would have to make us strong favourites to take another step on the road to a historic three trophy wins in a row.
