Arsenal FA cup XI for Sutton has no Alexis, Ozil or Giroud

Well if Arsenal do end up being on the wrong end of one of the biggest upsets ever in the long history of football’s oldest cup competition then Arsene Wenger will have a lot of questions to answer over his team selection for this evening’s away tie against Sutton United.

You could say that any Arsenal side picked should be able to get past a team struggling in the bottom half of the National League and hopefully they will, but when the manager decides to leave out a lot of our best players then he is opening himself up to the fury of the Arsenal fans if they fail.

Theo Walcott is the striker chosen to lead the Arsenal attack and in a game that is likely to be quite a physical battle I am not convinced the pacy England international is the best choice. Neither Olivier Giroud or Danny Welbeck is even on the bench and neither is the under fire playmaker Mesut Ozil or two of the first choice back four Koscielny and Bellerin.

Ospina
Gabriel, Mustafi, Holding, Monreal
Elneny, Xhaka, Lucas
Reine-Adelaide, Iwobi, Walcott

Subs: Martinez, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Maitland-Niles, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez.

At least the boss has Alexis Sanchez and the Ox to turn to if the Gunners are in trouble but let’s hope it does not come to that eh Gooners?
