Arsenal fans now need Leicester to win and Spurs to totter

Arsene Wenger has already admitted himself that Arsenal had to win all of the remaining Premier League games to have any chance of being champions and even that looked unlikely as Leicester City kept grinding out 1-0 wins and riding their luck. So I think we can all now finally stop hoping and accept that the EPL trophy is not coming to the Emirates at the end of the season.

And we hope that it is not coming to north London at all, because losing the league to Leicester would be bad but losing it to our local rivals Tottenham would be nothing short of a disaster. So I for one will be cheering for the Foxes as well as the Gunners from now on and unless their form and luck takes a massive downturn you would expect them to complete the fairytale.

Next up for Claudio Ranieri’s men is the trip to Sunderland. With the Black Cats fighting hard to save themselves from the drop this could be a very tough game but the spuds have a significant obstacle of their own to overcome with the visit of Manchester United.

Unless Tottenham win and Leicester lose, the gap will stay at a decent level of at least five points and possibly more with just five games left to play. But they do still have some hard games to play, with home games against West Ham and Everton and trips to Man United and Chelsea.

But if anything good is to come from Arsenal being held by the Hammers it might be a slight easing of pressure on the leaders which helps then to win at Sunderland tomorrow. And if they do then the pressure will transfer to our north London rivals and we may still be able to celebrate St. Totteringham’s day this season after all.
