Arsenal finally set to sign Cabaye in cut-price summer transfer

Maybe Arsene Wenger will not be looking at the summer transfer of Yohan Cabaye to Arsenal as a cut-price deal, but I am fairly sure that his current club Paris Saint-Germain will after they paid almost £20 million for the France international midfielder a little over a year ago.

But they have not really used him at PSG, apart from as a sub, and Cabaye has decided that he needs to move on to get regular football and increase his chances of getting back into the France national team under Laurent Blanc. THe 29-year old will have two years remaining on his contract in the summer, but according to a Metro report his club are ready to let him leave for around £10 million.

Funnily enough that is how much Wenger offered Newcastle United for Cabaye in the August of 2013. We know that the player was keen but Alan Pardew and Newcastle took the offer as miserly. That was just one of a rew rumoured attempts to bring the central midfielder to Arsenal, but it appears that Wenger has never given up on him and will bre very happy if he can get his long term transfer target for the price he wanted to pay.

How Cabaye will fit into the Gunners’ line-up with the likes of Coquelin, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere and all remains to be seen, but he is a quality player and I think will be a snip at £10m. What do you think Gooners?
