Arsenal given huge boost to signing of star striker

After the positive and very welcome update on the injury of the Arsenal and England international forward Danny Welbeck this week, it looks like the former Man United man could be back in action for Arsenal quite soon. The surgery went well and if Welbeck’s recovery continues as it has been doing, we may even see him back in an Arsenal shirt before the end of the year.

If that does happen it may well mean that Arsene Wenger will not be looking to sign another striker in the January transfer window. What he is trying to do though, is to get our current star striker Alexis Sanchez to sign a new contract to extend his stay with the Gunners.

However, the chances of that happening took a turn for the worse when it was reported that the Spanish giants and 10 time European cup winners Real Madrid were interested in taking the Chilean back to La Liga. Thankfully for Arsenal fans, Alexis seems to love his new club as much as we love him and as reported by the Daily Star, he has poured cold water on the transfer hopes of Rafa Benitez.

The 26-year old said, “I’m very happy at Arsenal. I don’t think about leaving.

“I always want to be the best at everything I do.

“I’m never happy with what I do, I always want to give more.”

Although Alexis was already a top class player when Arsenal signed him, he also seems to have thrived in the Gunners team under Arsene Wenger and is now better than ever. So the sooner we get him to sign a new long term deal the better. With Alexis in our attack and money in the bank to sign more players of that quality, is there anything that Arsenal cannot achieve?
