Arsenal HAVE the quality – If Wenger uses it correctly….

THIS ARSENAL TEAM HAS GOT SERIOUS QUALITY By UE

Watching Arsenal run riot yesterday night against an experienced but stunned Galatasaray side reminded me of how much quality we have in this team. Frankly, if we fail to do well this season, I wouldn’t blame it on our failure to sign William Carvalho or some super star defensive midfielder. It will be solely because the boss got his selection wrong because he has got some serious talent at his disposal. We played this game without the services of the crocked Walcot, Ramsey, Giroud, Arteta, Debuchy, Monreal, Gnabry and Diaby (who lacks fitness), and yet we did this well. That is some serious quality absent in our line up. And then of course Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell didn’t even get off the bench while Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky only came on when the show was basically over.

So we were right all along about our lack of team balance and I hope our French boss realizes that he has been wrong in his selections. Having a fit Chamberlain and Sanchez at your disposal and failing to play both of them on the flanks is just criminal. Their performance yesterday night ran the opposition ragged with their pace, trickery, dribbling, assists and goals. So why oh why does the boss continue to play Ozil and Carzola on the flanks when we have proper wingers who are tailor made for the flanks? Arsene Wenger really is a very stubborn and conceited man and I personally feel that injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere (who seems alright now) is what forced him to finally field his best line up yet. Isn’t that strange?

This reminds me of the long running saga of Wenger consistently benching a certain Joel Campbell for reasons unknown. We have top quality players in this team now. Yes we are still short of a Patrick Viera type of defensive midfielder but still, we have got it right in every other area and if we can keep making the right selections for every game and manage to get our tactics right, we will be very proud of this team by the time the season comes to an end. I mean look at Mesut Ozil. His performance yesterday night went back to being a bit lazy once again but the fact that he was played centrally behind Danny Welbeck meant that he could still shine while in second gear. Cazorla did very well too and so did all our players. And when we were down to ten men, we defended brilliantly for a significant period of time with David Ospina making crucial saves that ensured we gifted nothing to Galatasaray.

Let us just hope that the boss manages to find the humility to admit he has been blundering all this while playing Ozil, Carzola and Wilshere on the flanks. The result is there for all to see. Play our pacy wingers out wide and we will torture the opposition to death. Yesterday night’s game has been my best yet. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. A special shout out to Danny Welbeck, our clinical hat trick hero and undisputed man of the match. So Cazorla was right all this while. Danny is clinical and he is turning out to be the player we all believed he could be for Arsenal. Peace.
