Arsenal launch offer for coveted Torino defender

Arsenal are claimed to have made an offer of €16 Million for Torino’s Bruno Peres.

The defender is claimed to be wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Barcelona, but it is the Gunners who are said to have made the first official offer for his signature.

Peres scored three goals last season, as well as setting up seven, further enhancing any interest in his ability, and he could now be set to be offered a chance to move to a bigger club this window.

Arsenal are claimed to have made an initial offer of €16 Million for his signature, with Torino said to be in want of closer to €20 Million before parting ways with their right-back.

The Gunners could be eyeing the Brazilian to cover for the possible exit of Mathieu Debuchy, whose future is currently up in the air, having pushed to leave in January, in hope if sealing a place in France’s European Championship squad, which he failed to do.

A centre-back is more likely to a priority for Arsenal at present however, with the likelihood of having lost Per Mertesacker to injury for the majority of the coming campaign.

Inexperienced pairing Rob Holding and Calum Chambers have been playing together during pre-season whilst Gabriel has been missing with Tonsillitus, Koscielny yet to return from holiday having run deep into Euro 2016 with France, as well as Per missing.

Another striker is also believed to be a priority this summer, with Welbeck also missing through injury, and Theo Walcott having failed to impress last season.

Alexandre Lacazette is strongly linked as a possibility, having already missed out on Jamie Vardy, Gonzalo Higuain and Yassim Ben Yedder.

Debuchy has been playing in pre-season, but could he stay for the coming campaign? Surely he knows Bellerin will return to the starting line-up?
