Arsenal Legend Slams Wenger Dictatorship “It’s embarrassing!”

With tensions continuing to rise over Arsenal’s dismal campaign so far, fans have been very vocal about their criticism of the Arsene Wenger regime. But apart from the fans, a number of former stars have also expressed their discontent over the regime, none more so than the Gunners’ second-highest goal-scorer, Ian Wright, who claims that he would like to help the club ‘at any capacity’ but Wenger won’t let him.

As quoted by the Daily Mirror, the Arsenal legend said: “No one around Arsene Wenger can front him up and say ‘you’re wrong’, he has got people around him that he loves.

“Martin Keown is the only one that’s fronted him in the last couple of years and he got him out. They’re actually saying he will have a say in the next manager. It’s embarrassing what is going on up there at the moment.”

Personally, I think Wrighty is spot on with this one. It is no secret that Arsene indeed surrounds himself with rallying ‘yes men’ who are all in agreement with him. It’s almost like a dictatorship where no one is allowed to go against Wenger and his ideology. Perhaps it was for this same reason that Tony Adams was declined when he offered his services to the club.

Surely, the writing is on the wall for Wenger. There are rumors of the club contacting Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri for the job but it remains to be seen whether Wenger will finally admit defeat and step down. If that happens, we need a shake-up of the whole backroom staff. If Wenger does go, which he should, then his troop of ‘yes men’ must also follow him through the door so the club can have a new perspective at moving forward.
