Arsenal midfielder could be on his way to Italy in January

Granit Xhaka eyes Arsenal exit as two Italian clubs plot January move.

Granit Xhaka could start the year as a player of one of Italy’s top clubs. The Swiss midfielder has been frozen out at Arsenal after he fell out with the club’s fans.

He has been stripped of the clubs captaincy and there are doubts whether he will play for the Gunners again.

Reports from Mirror Sports claim that Italian giants, Inter Milan and AC Milan are plotting to make a move for him.

Inter are looking to win the Scudetto title this season with Antonio Conte. They are currently the most consistent challenger that Juventus have and Conte may need more squad depth.

AC Milan asked to be excluded from the Europa League this season as they look to focus on their league campaign. It does make sense that they would want to strengthen their midfield as well.

Milan is still struggling this season and Xhaka may help them get the results they so desperately need right now.

Should Xhaka look to stay in England, there are rumours that Steve Bruce is keen to take him to Newcastle.

Personally, I think a lot will depend on what Emery does with the 27-year-old over the next few games. If he does not play Xhaka in those games then it has to be an almost certainty that he will be moved on in the winter transfer window.

Italy would probably be a good destination for Xhaka, the slower game in Serie A would suit him better.
