Arsenal MUST be better to avoid PSG defeat

Whereas the last Premier League game before the international break was a bit unlucky for Arsenal, as we took the lead in the north London derby but were held to a draw by Tottenham thanks to a soft penalty awarded by the referee Mark Clattenburg, I think it is safe to say that Arsenal got the right side of the luck at Old Trafford yesterday.

One way of looking at the failure of Manchester United to turn their dominance into a win is to say that Arsenal defended well and showed that we can do the not so beautiful part of the game as well as the flowing and exciting attacking football that we are more used to seeing.

The worrying fact is that Arsenal only mustered one shot in target during the whole game and that would not normally be enough to have taken a point and if we play in a similar sort of way on Wednesday then I reckon that PSG will take advantage and claim the important top spot in our Champions League group.

While the Gunners were toiling at Old Trafford the French champions won again yesterday to go joint top of the French Ligue 1 table. That is their fourth win on the bounce and the last two matches have seen them score six goals without reply.

PSG will arrive in London full of confidence and in good form, so if Arsenal are not better will we blow another chance to finish top and avoid the best teams in the UCL knockout stage?
