Arsenal need a new owner! Dangote anyone?

The calls for Arsene Wenger to go at the end of this season, has been stronger and louder than usual. This is quite expected, especially when results are not going our ways. However, I don’t think sending Wenger packing alone, will solve our problems, the shareholders need to go as well

Stan Kroenke and Mr. Usmanov were successful business men in their various fields before they decided to buy over sporting franchises. Being a successful business man is no small feat; you need to know when to take drastic decisions to rejig your business, especially when things don’t seem to be moving in the right directions. Managing a football club of Arsenal’s status, means you need to be ruthless in decisions making. Have they done that? The answer is as visible as sunshine!

For several years now, Arsenal has been in need of a new coach with fresh ideas. A new coach who was going to guarantee us of a trophy, at least every two seasons. A new coach who was going to take over from Arsene Wenger and build on his legacies at Arsenal. It was so glaring that we needed a new coach but to the owners, Wenger was doing just fine, as long as the bucks keep rolling in. They are more interested in making money than winning trophies! That is no way to run a football club! A football club that does not aspire to win trophies, should cease to be in existence. A shareholder that cedes so much power to an employee, will surely lose so much power to such an employee! Wenger has been given so much power to manage the team the way he wants to; even the shareholders seems to be scared of sacking the man. Who is going to be our saviour?

Great clubs in England and other countries around the world are owned by men and women who are hungry for football success! Chelsea, Leicester city, Real Madrid and PSG, are just a few examples of clubs whose owners are interested in success financially and sporting wise. These clubs are rich today but they so boast of trophies! They are not afraid to sack any coach who fails to deliver, no matter the pedigree of the coach. Wenger won’t have lasted up to 4 years in any of these clubs, unless he upgrades himself. This is how to run a football club.

Arsenal needs new owners, owners that are hungry for success on the pitch! A rich business man who is really passionate about winning trophies! I keep on reading in the news of how much Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, wants to buy Arsenal. Well, i pray his desires comes to pass because I want such a man running Arsenal; he is a crazy supporter of Arsenal and he knows what it means to win trophies! Do you guys know of any other business man who can turn the situation of Arsenal around?
