Arsenal need to move fast if they are serious about German’s signature

Arsenal’s long-term target Marco Reus is attracting the interest of Bayern Munich at present, and will have to move quickly or risk losing out. Munich’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge today told the press that they are seriously contemplating another attempt to raid their main Bundesliga rival, this time for Dortmund born winger Marco Reus.

Bayern have signed Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski from their German counter-parts in recent seasons, and has angered their rivals with the way they do business. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s recent comments will not have helped their relationship in the slightest.

He said: ‘To be honest, we’ll discuss the matter internally and calmly. Then we will come to a decision.

‘At the end of the day, the player has to decide too. His release clause is well known. There’s nothing more to say.’

Liverpool’s John Henry has tweeted about his want to see Marco Reus join his club, but the Gunners are thought to be further involved with the 25 year-old midfielder.

We have been interested in the winger for a number of years now, with Arsene Wenger showing an interest in the Dortmund star way back in 2012.

This could be our last chance to sign the highly-coveted star, who will most likely sign a five-year deal with any club he chooses to move to in the coming windows.

Lukas Podolski is currently looking for more first-team action, having failed to earn a starting spot since the start of the season. With his expected departure, the Dortmund forward would be the perfect replacement.
