Eight Arsenal players scored in an excellent international break

What an international break it has been for Arsenal, even though we normally hate them because our international Gunners normally come with injuries. Well this time we have remained injury-free so far for a change, and everybody has been scoring goals for their countries.

Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain got on the scoresheets for England, Ramsey got one for Wales to break his duck at last as his country qualified for the Euros for the first time since most of us were born!

Even Olivier Giroud managed to score twice for France in the absence of Karim Benzema, while although Mesut Ozil didn’t score for Germany he pitched in with a perfect assist as the World Champions beat Georgia, and even more surprisingly Joel Campbell scored the only goal as Costa Rica beat the USA.

Super Santi also found his scoring boots with two goals in Spain’s 4-0 win over Luxembourg, and Alexis Sanchez was the star of the show as usual with the second goal in an excellent wn over Brazil, and he added another two in last nights 4-3 win over Peru to keep his country joint top of the World Cup Qualifying Group.

And to top off a great week, Chuba Akpom found the net on his England U21 debut, and our young prodigy Serge Gnabry scored for the Germany U21s in a 6-0 rout of the Faroe Islands.

So 12 goals scored from 8 different Arsenal players augurs well for the rest of the season, but one particular goal tickled me more than all these. It was Robin Van Persie’s excellent headed own goal as Holland were eliminated from the competition by Petr Cech’s Czech Republic, who topped their group….
