Arsenal poised to climb EPL table and challenge big boys?

The Premier League table is still not a nice looking thing to see for those of an Arsenal persuasion, as with five rounds of matches now played we are still in the bottom half. Having said that, Arsenal being 12th place just below Watford and just above Stoke City could be about to change very quickly.

For one thing, our seven points is just one fewer than the tally of Tottenham and our north London rivals are up in fifth spot so you can see why it will not take much to start racing up the table. Of course that will need wins from the Gunners, but after we followed up back to back victories over Bournemouth and Cologne with a well deserved draw with Chelsea on their own turf things are looking much more promising.

We also have a nice run of games coming up and with the players all seemingly united and playing for Arsene Wenger those wins should start racking up. West Brom, Brighton and Watford are up next for the Gunners and those games could and should see us on 16 points.

That might not put us up with Man City and United but it should get us back in the right area of the table and that might be the springboard for Arsenal to actually mount a title challenge, especially if we can perform in big away games like we did this weekend.

Time to start feeling positive Arsenal fans, or a bit too soon just yet?
