Arsenal set for £16m transfer swoop as DM is at Dortmund exit door!

Arsenal fans could soon have something to smile about and ease our concerns. While there have been hundreds of interesting looking Arsenal transfer rumours in the football media, so far the only real action on that front has been about players leaving the club.

Lukas Podolski has gone to play for Inter Milan in Italy’s Serie A and Arsene Wenger has revealed that Yaya Sanogo could also be heading out of the club on a loan deal this month. But over a week into the January transfer window, we are still waiting for any signings coming in the other direction.

All that could be about to change though, as a Metro report claims that the Gunners could be poised to strike and take advantage of the contract stalemate between the German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and their midfield star Ilkay Gundogan. The report says that Arsenal may already have been in talks with the central midfield or his representatives and that things could happen very soon.

The Mirror has reported that Dortmund have given Gundogan an ultimatum and if he does not agree to what could be their final contract offer in the next few days, then they are prepared to cash in. There is talk about an offer of around £16 million being enough to bring the talented German to Arsenal. We’ll see Gooners….
