Arsenal should have got all 3 points against Tottenham

Arsenal have been left in fourth place in the Premier League after the inconclusive draw against Tottenham yesterday, but should the Gunners have taken all three points and ended up joint top with Liverpool? Our Spanish defender Hector Bellerin is convinced we should have. “I’m a bit disappointed with the result because I think the team deserved a bit more than just a draw,” Bellerin said on Arsenal.com.

“We had loads of chances all through the game, especially at the end of the second half. We couldn’t be efficient enough to get another goal back and we need to learn from it.

“I think the team had a good performance defensively and then we knew how to play them in behind, we knew being very direct was going to hurt them but I think we’ve just got to take the positives and look at the next game.”

And that next game is away at Old Trafford with Man United six points behind us in 6th. We really could have done with three points, not just to give Tottenham their first defeat of the season, but always to keep pace with Liverpool and Chelsea who both had thumping wins to improve their goal differences.

But a draw is better than nothing and is the fourth stalemate in the last five meetings with the Spuds, we shall just have to aim to change that run when we visit White Hart Lane in April, but we should be far away in front of our rivals by then!
