Arsenal should NOT worry about return of Kane for Spurs

When Arsenal met our local rivals Tottenham in the north London derby at White Hart Lane in March last season, we needed a goal from the great Alexis Sanchez just to rescue a point after Harry Kane had produced a superb curler from long range to give them the lead.

That was the England international’s 14th goal in 18 London Premier League derbies. Kane also put Spurs ahead in the EPL clash at the Emirates stadium, which we got another point out of at the end. So even though he failed to score against the Gunners when we knocked them out of the Capital One cup early in the season, most Arsenal fans were happy to see him on the injury list as the derby approached.

Those same fans may now be worried after the Evening Standard reported that their centre forward is back in training again and despite not making the squad for the Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday, Kane is available to face Arsenal.

I would not worry too much, though, because Kane does tend to take some time to get his scoring form going after a spell on the sidelines. Plus the report claims that Mauricio Pochettino is concerned about throwing one of his biggest players in too soon and losing him again so the chances are he will start on the bench.

Kane’s return is obviously a boost for the spuds but they have plenty of problems to worry about at the moment and having one semi-fit striker back against a Gunners team firing on all cylinders is not something that should worry us Arsenal fans do you think?
