Arsenal star backed to break even more records

The Arsenal and Chile star Alexis Sanchez did not break just his goal scoring duck for the new season yesterday. Because his three goals against Leicester city meant that he also became a record breaker. In fact he broke two, the first being the only Chilean to have scored a Premier League hat-trick.

And he is also the first player from any country to score a hat-trick in the top divisions of England, Spain and Italy. That is some achievement when you consider the great players that have been around and it certainly bodes well for the near future of the Gunners.

A young Alexis scored four goals as Udinese beat Palermo 7-0 in Serie A and three years later he scored three for Barcelona against Elche in La Liga. That was his final season in Spain, luckily for us and after a slow start to the current campaign, Alexis is off and running and looking good to carry on from his brilliant first year with Arsenal.

His fellow Arsenal forward Theo Walcott certainly thinks that getting off the mark this weekend will open the flood gates for Alexis. The England international admits that the failure to score so far was bothering the Chilean but now that he has there will be a lot more to come.

You could see the confidence he gained from the first goal at Leicester, even though it was just a tap in. The third one, especially, was the goal of a player brim full of confidence and bang in form.

Theo said, “He is a top-quality player and even when he is not scoring goals he works so hard for us. He tracks back and does a lot for the team.

“I am sure he is going to flourish now with many, many more important goals.

“It has been a long time coming, he knows that himself. But he is very pleased.”

Alexis is now just one goal behind Giroud and Walcott in the scoring charts and he was the top scorer for Arsenal last season. Will he do it again and are there going to be a lot of records broken in the next few years?
