Arsenal star rules out January exit for Alexis and Ozil

Nacho Monreal has poured water on reports linking his Arsenal team-mates Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez with a move away come January.

The duo are both into the final season of their contracts at present, and there is huge speculation around regarding their futures, with the pair in line to join at least four different clubs each depending which source you choose to believe in.

There is also varying reports as to whether Alexis Sanchez will leave in January or the following summer, while Mesut Ozil is also claimed to be considering signing a new contract with our club.

The latest story today is that Barcelona are eyeing a move to bring him to the Nou Camp in the new year, with the player demanding a substantial signing on fee, but Nacho Monreal insists that ‘the feeling’ is that they will be at the Emirates until the end of the term at the very least.

“The feeling is that they will continue,” Monreal said.

“At no time have we talked about the possibility of them leaving. Not at all. They are committed to the group and we will see what happens.

“I can’t say much about it. It does not depend on me. The situation is clear. They are two vital players for Arsenal. They are two players who end their contracts at the end of the season.
