Arsenal star’s prediction for Premier League finish

In football, and especially if you are a fan of Arsenal Football Club, you never really know what to expect, although a lot of us feel that the actions of a certain Mister Arsene Wenger are pretty predictable in some ways. Even then, however, the Frenchman will shock us all with a change of tactics or with the transfer of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.

This unpredictability is what makes the beautiful game and all sport so interesting. So even though the Arsenal fans would rather not have seen our team surprisingly lose games like the first one of the season against West Ham and the home game recently against a depleted Swansea City, it has made for a more interesting season than usual.

And let’s be honest, it has been even worse for the clubs normally expected to be challenging for the Premier League title, with Chelsea and Liverpool struggling to even reach a Europa League spot and Man City and Man United fighting it out with West Ham for fourth.

One man who is hoping for and expecting a few more surprises before the season ends in May is the Arsenal and Brazil defender Gabriel, as an Arsenal.com report explains. The centre back thinks there will surely be more twists and turns to this strange campaign in which predicting results has been harder than ever. At the same time Gabriel is hoping that Arsenal have already had our quota of surprises and that the ones to come will hit our title rivals Leicester and Tottenham for a change.

He said, “First I hope that we’ll be able to win the seven matches we have left. We must focus on that and forget about the other teams and whether they’re winning or losing.

“There are many surprises [in the Premier League]. The competition has been very difficult and is very complicated.

“The team at the top of the league have a large points difference and the big teams fluctuate a lot and they lose some games that they shouldn’t lose. It’s a very hard competition.

“There’ll [still] be surprises but I hope that the surprises will be on the other teams and that we can win all seven games to be champions.”

Do you think Gabriel’s hopes have a hope in hell of coming true?
