Arsenal table cut-price offer for out-of-favour Barcelona international

Arsenal have launched a bid to sign Arda Turan from Barcelona this summer, with his club willing to sell for a loss (apparently).

The Turkish international joined the Catalan giants from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid last summer, but was forbidden from being registered to play until Barcelona had their transfer ban lifted in the following January.

Turan was only signed last summer, but is already claimed to be surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp, having only managed to be selected to start in 13 games in all competitions since becoming available.

The Spanish champions are said to be willing to cut their losses, and Arsenal are believed to have made an offer to buy him in a cut-price deal.

They face competition from Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray, with the Turkish giants believed to have submitted a bid in the region of £17.1 Million.

Turan previously said that he believed he would play for Arsenal, if he had failed to secure a move to Barcelona, and with his future seemingly away from his current club, he would most likely be happy to make that switch to the Gunners.

We allowed Tomas Rosicky, Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta to all leave at the end of their contracts this summer, and so far Granit Xhaka is the only midfielder to come in in their place.

There was previously rumours that we were trying to bring in Henrikh Mkhitaryan to bolster our attacking options, and may now have turned our attentions to the Turkinsh international instead.

Would Turan complement our midfield perfectly? Is Wenger prioritising another midfield addition over a forward or defender?
