Arsenal to benefit from England snubs to Walcott and Welbeck

Even though Arsenal have one Premier League game in hand on Tottenham and Man City, while also having played two games fewer than Liverpool, it is vital for the Gunners to get a win at West Brom this weekend before the two week pause for the latest round of internationals.

So perhaps the somewhat surprising news that the England manager Gareth Southgate has chosen not to include either Danny Welbeck or Theo Walcott in his squad could be of some benefit to Arsenal and our chances of sec uring another top four finish and another crack at the Champions League next season.

Maybe leaving Welbeck out is understandable given his long spell out through injury and his lack of game time, but I would have taken him as Welbeck has proven his worth to the three lions time and again and with Rooney and Harry Kane out Southgate was left with few options.

So it is even more strange that Walcott has been left out as the flying forward has been in fine form and has been pretty prolific in front of goal this season, with 17 goals so far. If I was Arsene Wenger I would certainly be feeding the two Gunners´sense of injustice and telling them to go out and prove the England boss wrong by helping Arsenal to beat the Baggies.

Because of this I would also give Welbeck the nod over Giroud for the Arsenal starting line-up. Will Wenger_ And will the two snubbed England strikers give Southgate reason top regret his decision?
