Arsenal to have complete France forward line as Griezmann clause halved?

I have no real idea if it would make any difference to Antoine Griezmann or not, but you would think that Arsenal having two of his fellow France international forwards in our squad already would at least be a factor in his thinking about whether to accept a transfer to the Emirates or not.

One thing I am sure about, though, is the fact that the release clause in his current contract with La Liga club Atletico de Madrid has recently been cut in half from £184 million to £92 million, as reported by the Daily Express, will make it a whole lot more likely that Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board will be among the clubs hoping to sign the prolific French forward.

The Spanish club have been under a transfer ban, which is why they were not able to get Diego Costa back from Chelsea despite all parties seeming keen on the deal, but that will be lifted in the new year and if Costa does rejoin his old club then perhaps Griezmann will leave.

If so you would expect Arsenal to at least try to be the club he joins and having Olivier Giroud and Lacazette as teammates may just be the thing that tips the scales in our favour. Imagine that Gooners…
