Arsenal wonderkid target reveals decision on summer move

Brazilian winger Malcolm has confirmed that he has told his current employers Bordeaux that he wants to leave at the end of the season.

The young forward has notched up eight goals and five assists in his 23 Ligue One outings this term, and has been the key attacking force for their side, contributing directly for 13 of their 29 total league goals.

The performances of the 20 year-old has brought plenty of attention, and Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been linked with a move for him in recent windows. It was thought that our club were most interested in his signature last month, with a view to replacing Alexis Sanchez, but the French side were believed to have priced his suitors out of a move.

The player himself has now revealed that he has made his intentions clear, and that he will play out the rest of the season with Bordeaux before pursuing a move.

“It’s my dream to progress in my career,” he said

“I spoke to the president, he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me.

“I told him he could count on me until the end of the season, I will do everything to help Bordeaux finish in the top six in Ligue 1.”

Arsenal brought in Henrikh Mkhitaryan last month as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, and the Armenian international has already impressed, notching up a hat-trick of assists in his full debut, and it remains to be seen whether our club will follow up their winter interest in Malcolm and make a new offer come the summer.

Can Arsenal tempt the winger to snub other offers? Would the forward be guaranteed a first-team role in our side?
