Arsenal’s Alexis disregards Wenger to play through injury with Chile

Alexis Sanchez has declared himself fit to play for Chile over the international break despite Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claiming otherwise.

The Gunners forward had to be substituted against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, which was followed by comments by the Arsenal manager which described as a ‘terrible state’, with the belief that he had damaged his ankle ligaments.

Days following these comments, Alexis has taken it upon himself to make himself available for Chile as they look to take on Argentina and Venezuela in their World Cup qualifiers this week.

This is not the first time that the former Barcelona star has done this whilst with our club, it’s not even the first this season! Alexis was rumoured to be set for a lengthy absence on the sidelines back in October, but travelled to South America regardless, and luckily came away unscathed.

Sanchez has since posted a picture of himself on his Instagram, with the phrase ‘The only failure is not to try.’

This will only move to further damage the club’s top scorers relationship with our side, with Alexis thoroughly expected to force a move away from the club at the end of the season. The player’s contract is up in a little over 12 months time, and he appears to have made it clear that he will not be extending his deal.

A serious injury over the international break however could end his hopes of joining a new club in the close-season, but his love for his country and the fight instilled in his character wont allow him to give in to injury.

Is Alexis playing to escape being with Arsenal? Does Sanchez believe he is unbreakable? Does he need a rest?
