Arsenal’s Alexis: Ozil should relax and the goals will come

Mesut worries about scoring goals more than he should, according to Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez.

The pair have become two of the most important players in our squad over the past couple of seasons, and the duo seem to be helping each other to further enhance their build-up play.

The pair have also been two of our main goalscorers during the current campaign, with the German bagging himself nine goals in all competitions thus far, and the Chilean chipping in with a further 16.

Despite the former Real Madrid midfielder having broke his personal best in a Gunners shirt when it comes to goals at this early point in the campaign, Arsene Wenger has insisted he should still be finding himself on the score sheet more often.

Alexis Sanchez believes he should be doing that also by the sounds of it, and claims it be much easier if he didn’t put so much pressure on himself to score.

“Ozil is a quality player, he really enjoys playing football,” he said.

“I always tell him to enjoy it and not get too worried about scoring.

“If he enjoys it he can score goals like the one he managed to score against Ludogorets, dribbling past two defenders and the goalkeeper.

“His goal against Ludogorets is the kind of goal every player dreams of.

“I feel very comfortable playing alongside him.

“He has great vision and there’s no need to praise his great ball control because everyone knows about it.”

Ozil is clearly one of the most intelligent and creative players we have in our squad, and more goals would certainly not go a miss. If relaxing really could bring more out of him than our club really needs to look at ways to help him do so.

Does Ozil put too much pressure on himself?
