Arsenal’s away form gives Middlesbrough boss confidence

Middlesbrough may be without a League win since the middle of December, but they have been securing many home draws and are desperate to finally get a win under their belts as they try to claw their way out of the relegation zone. They are hopeful that they can manage that against Arsenal tomorrow as the Gunners have lost their last 4 away games, and have conceded three goals in each one.

This gives the Boro boss Steve Agnew confidence that his team can finally get their first three points of the year. “They’re in a difficult moment, certainly away from home, but they have top quality players throughout the team.” Agnew said on the official MFC website. “Arsenal have conceded goals, particularly away from home in recent weeks, and that gives us confidence.

“We have no doubt it will be a really difficult game, but we’ll continue to prepare and we’re looking forward to it.”

“It’s a massive game and we need to win and we need the three points.

“We need to start scoring goals, we’re capable and we have the players.

“Our movement and ability to create has been evident – we just need to make sure when the chance comes along we take it.

“Any game under the lights at the Riverside is exciting. The crowd will be as vibrant as ever and it’s a really exciting fixture.”

The home crowd could be important, and if the few Arsenal fans that are there start showing displeasure if we don’t start scoring early, it could be another uncomfortable afternoon for Arsene Wenger. It is a fact that any team fighting relegation becomes very dangerous at this point in the season, but surely Wenger can get the Gunners up for a fight. We need the points just as much as Middlesbrough!
