LOL It didn’t take too long for the media to start the January Arsenal transfer rumours as at the start of yesterday the Guardian are saying that Arsene Wenger made a last minute offer to buy the Juventus striker Simone Zaza, despite the 24 year-old only moving to the Old Lady earlier in this transfer window, and are now preparing to go back for another bid in January.
This must be close to being the most ridiculous rumour I have ever heard so it is fitting it should come just a couple of days after the transfer window has shut!
So, Arsene Wenger, who has been totally ignoring all links with some of the best strikers in the world, suddenly made a last minute bid for a player that Juventus bought for 18m euros just two months ago, and who last played for the Serie A minnows Sassuolo. Mind you Zaza did score in both matches against Juventus last season which may have persuaded them to make use of a first-option clause after they sold him to Sassuolo a few years ago, but after acquiring him, are they seriously considering selling him before he even plays for the Italian giants.
Zaza is currently with the Italy squad for this weeks internationals so is obviously highly-rated, but seriously this rumour is so far-fetched that it was worth sharing with you. I am going to be seriously embarrassed if Arsenal do buy him though….
