Arsenal’s ‘Golden’ EPL chance to be tarnished by injury?

On the one hand, Arsenal have finally started to convince the many doubters in the football world that we are now a squad that has the balance of talent, steel and all the other things it takes to win the marathon that is the Premier League title race.

On the other hand Arsene Wenger has admitted that the ever growing injury list, which only needs one more Arsenal player adding to it to have a complete starting XI in the treatment room, is a big worry for him and he knows that it could be the thing that once again scuppers his quest to add another EPL trophy to the one Arsenal last lifted in 2004 after going a whole season unbeaten.

The Frenchman´s concerns, reported by The Guardian, are growing along with the number of crocked players and it is the fact that we have not even reached the halfway point of the campaign yet that is bothering the boss. He is clearly worried about the busy festive period which could prove crucial to our success.

Wenger said, “I am very concerned, honestly, because we are only in November and to have so many players out, knowing we go into the Christmas period soon, I am concerned. At the moment, we have too many players out.”

So it seems a bit strange that Jamie Carragher has now chosen to write in the Daily Mail that Arsenal are faced with a golden opportunity to win the league this season and if we blow it we might not get another. He talks about all of our big rivals having problems to overcome, but does he not think that having 10 first team players out of action is a problem?

I think I prefer it when he is criticising us rather than ramping up the pressure. How about you?
