Arsenal’s Lucas to accept pay-cut to leave if Wenger doesn’t?

Lucas Perez is claimed to set to push for an exit from Arsenal this summer if manager Arsene Wenger refuses to leave the club.

The Spanish forward arrived in a £17 Million deal only last summer, but has struggled to break into the manager’s first-team plans this season.

Perez hasn’t failed to impress the fans (especially us at JustArsenal), scoring seven goals in all competitions despite his limited chances, and always seems to do well when given the chance, whether it be in a central or wide role.

The player’s frustrations must stem from the fact that he has played well in the red shirt, yet is continually overlooked, while the team struggles to meet their objectives on the pitch. If there was ever a reason to try something different, why not use someone who has impressed and is not lacking in confidence from the run of results?

Perez is now claimed to be eager to leave the club should Wenger remain in charge, which seems ever-likely at present.

The Spanish international is believed to be keen on a switch back to former side Deportivo La Coruña, and is willing to take a pay-cut in order to secure that move.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a possible move for the forward, but with Edinson Cavani, Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria amongst those vying for attacking roles, he would be likely to play a bit-part role for PSG also.

It seems unlikely that Depor would be willing to pay the full £17 Million that the Gunners paid only last year, and but he should be able to seek out a potential suitor without too much problems.

Has Wenger been silly to overlook Perez so often?
