The new Arsenal striker Takuma Asano may not have a work permit to play football in England, but his chances of getting one soon are sure to be improved by his impressive form for the Japan national team at the Rio 2016 Olympic games.
Arsenal fans were not exactly enthusiastic about the signing of this unheard of young striker but that may be changing after he scored for the second game in a row to keep Japanese hopes of reaching the quarter-final stage alive.
His team were trailing 2-0 to Colombia with 25 minutes to go when the new Gunner produced a fine finish to spark a comeback that saw them claim a point. They now face Sweden on Thursday and will hope for a better result than Colombia get against the already qualified Nigerians.
It was even better for the other Arsenal star in Brazil, as Gnabry bagged his second goal of the game and his third of the competition with an injury time free kick that earned Germany a draw against South Korea. It was a crucial strike as well, because it keeps the Germans in with a chance of going through.
They are currently on two points while Mexico and South Korea have four each, so Gnabry and his team need to beat the Mexicans on Wednesday to book their place in the knockout stage.
