Arsenal’s Ox and Ramsey heading in opposite directions?

After Arsenal proved the majority of the football world wrong by bouncing back from a horrible run of results and loss of form to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to claim a place in the Wembley FA cup final and the chance to make both the club and our manager Arsene Wenger the most successful in the competition’s long and illustrious history, Aaron Ramsey was reported by Sky Sports calling for the players to win it for the under pressure Frenchman.

The Wales international star said, “It was important for us to get to the final for him, for ourselves and for the fans, and have a bit of positivity around the club.

“He was over the moon for us but we are delighted as well that we have got to a final for him. I think he deserves that and hopefully now we can kick on and win it for him.”

Ramsey certainly has a lot of reasons to feel he owes Wenger something, because the boss has been his staunchest defender for years, even when Ramsey’s form was frankly awful. The problem is that the Welshman is back in that situation again and I do not think that he will get much more leeway from the manager.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, on the other hand, is finally showing on a regular basis what we have only see flashes of in the past and what has been expected of him for years. For me the difference in form and the way their Arsenal careers appear to be going is matched by the difference in attitudes.

In recent weeks it has been the Ox who has been really putting in the hard work and not just saying what he thinks the fans and the manager want to hear, while Ramsey’s effort on the pitch lets down his positive and upbeat comments off it.

Are these two Arsenal stars heading in completely opposite directions?
