Arsenal’s season so far – One good game out of FIVE – Must improve!

Arsenal are not amongst Europe’s Elite. Truth be told By Galen

PSG vs Arsenal was the big game we were all waiting for. It was the game that was going to tell us what our true level is. To sum it up, a friend of mine said PSG were doing the Arsenal of old. Playing beautiful football and missing chances. Apart from the Watford game we have been poor all season. I have seen loads of Arsenal teams and this is one of the worst so far.

I have seen the Viera – Petit, Cesc – Flamini, Song – Wilshere Cesc – Nasri, Arteta – Ramsey, etc. The present midfield of Ozil, Cazorla and Coquelin is not working. I have had enough of it. We have tried it with Southampton and PSG and its simply not working. Spurs were the first to expose that midield. All you need to do is apply pressure and and press us, we are clueless. Every team that shows us no respect and press us, exposes us. Ozil and Cazorla barely do enough defensive work. Ozil just can’t be bothered really.

To whom more is given , more is expected. Ozil is a world class player, but in big games he goes missing time and time again. How can such a top player have two such terrible games vs Southampton and PSG and nobody dares to crticise him. No matter how bad Ozil plays he will just start the next game. Ozil needs to stand up and take the game by the scruff of the neck. Look at what David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne are doing for Manchester City? Ozil just appears, and disappears for another 15 mins, then he appears again with an assist. I need more fight from him, more control from him. Apart from that famous Napoli game and the UNITED game at home last season, I can’t remember a big game were he took it by the scruff of the neck.

Mustafi and Koscielny is not working. At least they have an excuse of training only for about one week together, so I hope with more games they get better and better.

Ox has made zero progress since he moved to Arsenal. He would struggle to start for the under 21’s. I think kids like Jeff and Iwobi are already better than him. How Can you justify loaning Joel Campbell and Wilshere and keeping the OX? Madness really. With Theo and Ramsey injured you think Ox will take his chance? Well we have no excuse if Ramsey plays as right wing because so far the others have not been good.

Sanchez as striker? Is Wenger trying to prove to the world that he is right and we are all wrong? Sanchez is not a striker, he never was and never will be? Sanchez needs freedom either on the wings or as a number 10 or in a 4-4-2 as a second striker.

Credit were it’s due, Ospina was different class last night. That’s what I expect from squad players, to put pressure on the so call unshakeable players.

The curious case of Granit Xhaka? How can you play so well vs Watford then you are dropped for the next 2 games? Why did we spend £30+ million on a midfielder if he would just be benched? We might as well have kept the money and got ourselves a striker with that money. I really don’t understand what is going on.

Our games so far:

Arsenal vs Liverpool – we were not good enough. deserved to be beaten.

Leicester vs Arsenal – We created nothing going forward and Koscielny was the difference.

Watford vs Arsenal – That was a solid performance and I expected us to build on that.

Arsenal vs Southampton – We were lucky. We did nothing to deserve the 3 points. Generous penalty .

PSG vs Arsenal. We were completely outplayed. How we got a point is a miracle. Judging by this game we are far below the top clubs in Europe. There is so much work to do. So far it’s really is not looking good.

They say good teams get points when they are not playing well. I really hope that is the case for Arsenal cause right now we are plain boring. Before we were not winning trophies but with Cesc – Song – Jack – Nasri we could watch Magic. The present team is just dull. It has zero authority or entertainment. Its just like a normal premier league team, like Stoke, Everton, Southampton, etc

I hope we build on today’s result. Bring on Hull.
