Bellerin’s comments about Emery’s training can only give Arsenal fans great confidence for the future

Hector Bellerin is probably the one Arsenal player that had more to lose when Unai Emery came in, as the young Spaniard was an automatic starter under Arsene Wenger, despite some lacklustre performances. But the 23 year-old is gushing about how good the changes under his fellow Spaniard has been, and he can see many improvements from when Le Prof was in charge. Bellerin told ESPN: “The training has been way different,”

“We work on different things to how we did with the boss [Wenger]. Both coaches have philosophies that are different. Arsene Wenger was a manager that led a lot of inspiration from the players. He gave you a lot of freedom.

“Unai Emery is a bit more tactical. We are going to be more organised on the pitch and they are different philosophies that have worked for them both. We are getting used to it, working really hard, everyone is really excited.”

“It has been very different for everyone,” he continued. “Mr. Wenger had been at the club 22 years. When a new coach comes in, lots of things change, not just on the pitch but the backroom staff is different. A lot of people that weren’t here before are now here. Every change is always for the better.

“They had a lot experts looking for a coach and if they think Unai Emery is the one, he will be. He has great experience in Spain, he has been at the top level and even with teams that have not had the best players, he has made them competitive.”

Well if that doesn’t fill Arsenal fans with much more confidence for this season then nothing will. If Wenger only tried to improve the team by trying to give them confidence then it clearly hasn’t worked for many years. As far as I am concerned there is no substitute for hard work if you really want to be the best, and it looks like Emery is certainly making them do that.
