‘Bring on the Big Guns – Arsenal are ready’ roars star

I for one am glad that the next few fixtures coming up for Arsenal in the Premier League are against teams that are struggling and so they should, theoretically, be easier to beat. It is not as if the Gunners are struggling, far from it in fact as we are the division´s form side with five wins and a draw from the last six games, but we are a little bit thinly stretched due to a raft of injury problems and the concerns over the fitness of Alexis Sanchez.

That is why I think we are lucky to have West Brom, Norwich, Sunderland and Aston Villa up next but one Arsenal star sounds like he does not give a monkey’s chuff who the Gunners play because Mesut Ozil feels that he and his team mates have now done enough to get rid of that tag of being big game bottlers once and for all.

Our German international star Mesut Ozil has been one of the top performers this season, in the world not just in England, so you can see why he would be full of confidence and happy about the way he is able to influence and control games much more these days.

Ozil told Arsenal Player, “I think as a team you can see that we’ve become more mature. We’ve learnt from our mistakes and you can see on the pitch that we’re more steady.

“We’ve had some setbacks this season but we’ve learnt from them and it shows on the pitch that my team-mates are looking for me even more and I’m able to control the game better.”

But the German understands that he is just one facet of a very strong team that is now working brilliantly together and that is why he feels that Arsenal are ready to face any opponent without fear and with the tools to beat them.

He went on, “You can see that we function well as a team. It doesn’t matter who plays from the start, we’re always there. You need a big squad if you are to be successful and that’s why things are working well.

“When you look at the past seasons, we’ve always been a technically-strong team but when we played against big teams, we dropped points. In the second half of last season and in this year so far, we’ve proved ourselves against the biggest teams.

“You learn from your mistakes and we can measure ourselves with the best. That distinguishes us as a team.”

Well he will soon have a great opportunity to back these words up on the pitch, when main EPL rivals Man City come to town just before christmas. Will Ozil still be happy after that game or will he have to think again?
