Arsenal stole the three points away at Burnley today, and their manager Sean Dyche is furious with the way in which the winning goal was scored.
The Gunners travelled to Turf Moor and took part in a tough battle, but were able to come away victorious.
The win does not come without controversy however, with the winning goal said to have been falsely allowed, with the player offside, and with the ball striking off of Laurent Koscielny’s hand to be diverted into the net.
Sean Dyche was quick to vent his fury with the winner, claiming there is also a question mark over the time added on, with two minutes held up by the fourth official, and the goal coming after the clock read 92:00.
“You have to question the added time, the corner and whether it should have come in, the handball and question whether we should have dealt with it,” the Clarets boss told Sky Sports.
“It’s a poor way to end a game. We are disappointed in that but encouraged by the performance.
“We were taking on one of the super power clubs. Obviously it’s the ultimate frustration with the last 10 seconds or so.
“The mood in the dressing room is not low, we know what the challenge is. It’s more one of frustration because they have done enough to earn a point after keeping a good side quiet.
“There’s a lot of positives to come out of this.”
Burnley put in a dogged display at home today, but the best side won in the end, although the nature of the goal is most definitely a bitter pill to swallow for Dyche.
I can understand his frustrations, but at the end of the day, they will finish safe from the relegation zone, and looking back on this game at the end of the year, it is unlikely that this missing point will be of importance.
