Can Arsenal afford to turn down Ozil-Turan swap deal?

Barcelona are claimed to be eyeing a swap deal with Arsenal including Arda Turan and Mesut Ozil.

The Catalan giants are believed to be keen on beating their rivals to the signature of the German international, and are ready to use the Gunners interest in Turan, who has become surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.

Arsenal are believed to be eyeing the Turkish midfielder as a potential replacement for Ozil, who currently appears to be running down his contract as he seeks an exit from his current side.

The Barca playmaker has previously talked about the possibility of playing at the Emirates Stadium, claiming he believed he could have joined them had he not secured his dream move to the La Liga leaders, and may now be ready to follow up on his previous thoughts.

The Catalan club could land Ozil on a free transfer come the end of the season, whilst being permitted to open negotiations of such a move from January, but the fear is that they could well lose out with Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan also linked with an interest in his signature.

Ozil would represent a huge boost to Barcelona this season, with him being one of the best players in the world who is not cup-tied from the Champions League, and the Spanish giants may well push for his arrival this winter.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is claimed to be keen to put the German off joining their league rivals, with his former team-mate claimed to have called the Arsenal star in order to reveal his disdain due to his ties to former club Real.

Ozil is currently hitting top form in North London, and should his performances continue, we could well be in with a shot of challenging for top spot in the division, but would he be put off by a bid from Barca? Could we afford to turn down the opportunity to bring in his replacement when we are near-certain to lose him for free if he stays beyond January?
