Can Arsenal go to West Brom with confidence after grinding out win at Palace?

Arsenal looked confident and impressive when taking the game to Crystal Palace last night, and the reason why it was extra impressive was because the Eagles hadn’t lost any of their last 8 games. But they fought their way through to take the points and that should have regained a little confidence after an awful run of form away from the Emirates.

But next the have to go to the Midlands to play West Brom, who are in a terrible state having not won a single game since August which is a run of 18 games. Surely last night’s win against an in-form team should give tthem immense confidence against a team that has lost any vestige of confidence. Calum Chambers, who played his first League game for the Gunners for 18 months last night, thinks that it was the perfect springboard for another away win. He said: “I think so, I think we can go into West Brom with confidence from this game as it shows that we can dig in deep and we can grind out a result, so I think we go there with confidence. It’s not going to be easy, any game in this league isn’t easy so we’ll get home tonight and recover from this.”

Surely Arsenal should have been confident anyway against a West Brom team that can’t buy a win at the moment, but it is definitely a plus that that we finally got another away win.

Is Chambers right to be confident?
