Can Arsenal now forget Premier League title?

It does not look good for Arsenal Football Club and the fans right now. We always knew it was going to be a huge task going to Stamford Bridge to face a super strength and in form Chelsea, but the 2-0 defeat leaves the Gunners languishing down in 7th place in the Premier League table and a massive nine points off the league leaders. Is there any way that Arsenal can realistically keep our title dreams alive?

Well yes there is, but it is going to take a big turnaround in form for us – and for Jose Mourinho’s team to come unstuck, because at the minute they look like they will walk it. But then again, look at the run that Liverpool went on last season to make everyone think the title was theirs. Then once knocked off their stride they faltered and the same could happen to Chelsea. It does look unlikely at the minute, but a key injury or two could also have a big effect.

What is more important for Arsenal, however, is our own form, because even if the title hopes are fading into the distance, the Gunners still need to get our season back on track. There have been promising signs and the international break comes at a good time so we can start again with key players like Walcott and Ramsey returning.

But one look at the table, with Man United and Tottenham sitting above Arsenal, and you realise that it is vital that we do start well after this fortnight. A home game against Hull City gives us a great opportunity to start again with a bang but we need to build momentum and start winning the games we have been drawing to put pressure on the teams around us.

It is not too late, but it soon will be if we don’t hit the ground running in a couple of weeks.
