Can Arsenal risk wantaway Debuchy against Sunderland?

There have been a few Arsenal transfer rumours in recent weeks talking about the possible exit from the club of our France international right back Mathieu Debuchy, and it is quite understandable for the player as he needs to be playing regular football in order to increase his chances of getting into the France team of Didier Deschamps as they host the Euro championships in the summer.

So Arsene Wenger was asked about the Debuchy situation in the press conference ahead of our FA cup match against Sunderland, reported by the Arsenal website, and he revealed that he was ready to let the defender leave, adding that there was no deal in place at the moment.

Wenger said, “He has an opportunity to go but he as well has not been in touch with any club.”

While I understand the decision of the Arsenal manager to keep playing our young Spaniard Hector Bellerin ahead if his French team mate, I was expecting Debuchy to start some games such as the ones in the FA cup. But if he really is determined to leave, can we afford to risk him from the start against Sunderland?

On the one hand he might be keen to impress in order to get himself the best possible loan move but on the other hand you could say that he has no real motivation to put himself on the line for the Gunners. That could mean him pulling out of a tackle or just not giving that much effort, so does Wenger have to stick with Bellerin even though the youngster could really do with a rest?
