Can Aubameyang be Arsenal’s secret weapon against Man City?

Poor old Alexandre Lacazette set Arsenal fans on fire by knocking in goals as soon as the season started after his arrival from Lyon this summer, but his confidence seemed to disappear after 5 or 6 games and Arsene Wenger decided to bring in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just six months after the Frenchman’s arrival which relegated Lacazette to the bench.

The French international was supposed to be our saviour in the goalscoring department, but that mantle has now been passed on to Aubameyang, who had scored in his first Arsenal appearance against Everton but couldn’t get a look in against Tottenham. Will he get back to goalascoring form against the mighty City?

Arsene Wenger is hoping that the Gabonese international can be our secret weapon tomorrow. The Boss said on Arsenal.com. “He has intelligent movement, great pace, and he is a great finisher, a cool finisher. In the box he always has an eye on the goalkeeper. They are the finishers. He was not at his best physically when he arrived, but he has moved on a lot physically.

“I think he can give us a big lift and be very efficient in the Cup Final.”

His old strike partner Henrikh Mhkitarayan is cup tied for tomorrow so won’t be on hand to assist him, but surely Mesut Ozil can do his job in that department and cause real problems for the City defence. Obviously he can’t win the game for us on his own and we will need our defence to be extra solid for a change, having only kept two clean sheets in there last 14 games, and one of those was against Ostersunds!

But it would be really good if Aubameyang can become an instant hero for us and win us a Cup Final on only his third appearance for us.

All hail Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang! COYG!!!
