If Arsenal fans get our wish then over the next few weeks we will see another striker sign for the Gunners and it will not be an unheard of young French player from the lower leagues like Yaya Sanogo. If Arsene Wenger does manage to complete the transfer of a player like Alexandre Lacazette then I guess our young Nigerian international will be playing in one of his usual roles of wide forward or attacking midfielder.
If the boss does not spend money on a quality striker though, and it would not be the first time by any means, then perhaps Iwobi could be an answer to our problems up front. The reason I used the ezample of the Tottenham and England striker Harry Kabe in the title is because I think the two players have similar attributes, such as pace, power and good footwork.
Don’t forget that Kane was also used mainly out wide as he came up through the ranks of the spuds, but look at him now. Just look also at the way Iwobi played after coming on against Viking, His first goal was a nice piece of forward play involving a great run and a slick finish, while his second was a real cracker and all his own work.
Wenger has had success before in making centre forwards out of wide men (cough, van Persie, cough) so do you think he could do it again with Iwobi?
