Cech: Arsenal must take the positives out of Man United defeat

Arsenal lost to Manchester United yesterday, despite dominating much of the match at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners had over 30 shots on goal, with David De Gea racking up 14 saves on what has to have been his best performance between the sticks and we must now take some positives out of our defeat.

Petr Cech claims that the game was lost by our early mistakes and must learn to be better concentrated in the future, whilst adding that he is disappointed in the result especially when considering how much of the game was dominated by themselves.

He said: “The game was decided at the start with our two mistakes and they scored.

“We need to make sure that when we create chances in a big game we score and don’t make mistakes.

“There are not many times you play United and you dominate the whole game, having so many chances, so this is positive, but we are disappointed.

“We played against Huddersfield and we were on the other side of it (winning 5-0 last Wednesday).

“We had a spell where we had four shots and everything went in, this time it was the opposite.”

Scoring only once from over 30 shots on goal is highly frustrating especially when you consider they managed three goals from under 10, but we can’t let the result affect our confidence in the busy run up to Christmas.

We have tough trips to Southampton and West Ham coming up in the Premier League and although neither is enjoying their best season, will still pose problems for us if we are not at our best.

Would we have won if we had survived the opening 15 minutes at 0-0? Can we take positives out of the defeat?
