Cech tells Arsenal teammates why Chelsea will crack

It was another disappointing weekend in the Premier League for arsenal and the other sides hoping to chase down the current league leaders and pip them to the title, as Chelsea won quite comfortably away to the reigning Champions Leciester City, and that was despite our hopes that the row between Costa and Conte that kept their main striker out of the squad might have a negative impact.

There is still a long way to go and a lot of games to be played, though, and one man in the Arsenal camp who knows Chelsea better than anyone has given us and his teammates a reason to keep pushing and piling on the pressure. Petr Cech spent 11 years at Stamford Bridge before switching his allegiance to the Gunners and in that time he won many titles and cups so he knows what he is talking about.

The veteran keeper is reported by The Mirror explaining why he thinks his former club may falter, and if Cech is right then Arsenal fans should be grateful to our north London rivals because by winning at the weekend as well Tottenham stopped Chelsea from widening the gap. Cech reckons that this is vital but also the number of clubs staying on their trail could be key.

He said, “We need to win these games as you can’t let them have the advantage of making the gap bigger.

“If everyone gets points Chelsea feels the pressure from behind. This is probably the better scenario for those of us who are chasing.”

So as well as Arsenal needing the spuds to halt their unbeaten run we need to do our bit by taking points off them in two weeks and for Liverpool to do the same at Anfield next weekend. If Cech is right then Chelsea may just crack with us all closing in on their position at the top.
